UFC 120 Results in London, England (Main Events) Carlos Condit Knocks Out Dan Hardy and Bisping beats Yoshihiro Akiyama by Decision

                                                     UFC 120 MAIN CARD RESULTS

 

• Michael Bisping vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama
• Round 1: Akiyama connects early with a nice right causing Bisping to say in the post-fight interview that "I was seeing double!"  Bisping was moving incorrectly to his left and Akiyama's right side which increased Akiyama's chance of landing his powerful right striking.  Bisping fails a single leg takedown at 3:00 and 1:14 but gets it at 2:31.  Akiyama stands up immediately to avoid takedown.  At 2:20 Akiyama's complaint of a groin strike was ignored by the ref allowing Bisping to land some punches while Akiyama is pleading with the ref.  Bisping connects with a left and right punch but fails at the his single-leg takedown attempt.  Bisping then connects with a nice knee.
• Round 2: Leg kick by Bisping caught by Akiyama then an accidental eye poke by Akiyama so the ref stops it.  Then Akiyama stops moving his head and legs starts dropping his hands and gets hit more by Bisping. Akiyama misses a spinning backfist. Bisping starts moving correctly to his right to avoid Akiyama's powerful right cross punch.   Akiyama stops moving his head and legs as much and looks much more tired.  However, Akiyama is available to avoid Bisping's spinning back fist but gets hit in last 5 seconds by a flurry of punches. 
• Round 3: Bisping lands a nice left and right combo punch and a leg kick at 3:49 but Akiyama counters with a nice right to Bisping's head.  Then an illegal but accidental groin strike by Bisping causes the ref to stop the fight while Akiyama struggles in agony for over 1 minute.   Akiyama does not seem to recover from the accidental groin kick until the last seconds as Bisping lands left and right punches at 1:58, 1:24, and 1:07.  Bisping lands a nice knee in the last 10 seconds while Akiyama goes in for knockout with left and right strikes not landing with much power.

• Dan Hardy vs. Carlos Condit: Condit wins by Knockout in R1 at 4:27 by a left hook after Hardy dropped his right hand while throwing a simultaneously throwing a punch. Condit followed up with a left and right cross after Hardy was already knocked down on the canvas when the ref jumped in to stop the fight
