UFC 118 Randy Couture's MMA vs James Toney's Boxing; BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar rematch

James Toney states at the UFC 118 Press Conference: "I'm the heavy weight champion of the world. I'm the best fighter on the planet period. I'll show you on Saturday night....I'm the ONLY REAL GUY in BOXING." Toney should get credit as Dana White stated as the "only [recent] boxer that has ever stepped up and signed the contract in the UFC....I have accomplished a lot of things in life that I am proud of.... I would never do anything to embarrass myself and my family. I know a lot more than you think I know." To which Dana White replied "you had better!" There was one boxer in the early days of the UFC wearing boxing gloves which was beaten quickly by being taken down and submitted.

James "Lights Out" Toney weighed in at 237 lbs/107.72 kgs and looked less fit than this UFC promo picture.  You be the judge if MMA has fallen victim to computer manipulation of pictures like a women's fashion magazine.  Toney had the smallest underwear on to make weight.

"Man Boobs cause you to Lose! (MMA MAXIM service mark)"

National Geographic's “Fight Science” Show evaluated the striking force of many martial arts for a knockout. The boxer in their test had 12 oz or heavier gloves and achieved 993 lbs of impact which is the equivalent of a "sledge hammer to the face!" Toney will have to impose his ability to strike without being taken down or subdued to use his power with kinetic linking to have a chance at a knockout.

Couture responded, "I don't do any talking. It all happens in the cage" after being asked what he has to say to Toney's trash talking. It is amazing that Toney has more knock outs in boxing than Randy Couture has fights in mixed martial arts (MMA). However, this is MMA and Dana defended Toney as merely "dabbling in MMA" and that he better be prepared and get in shape. Do you think merely dabbling in boxing would be enough in a boxing match? Of course not!
Bleed in training, don't bleed in combat
Bleed in training so you don't bleed in war" is a famous military maxim that applies to all fights that even included with our gladiator design.

Toney's ground defense consisted of one move which you learn on day 1 of MMA training; to control your opponent's head.  Toney did not even try to use his legs to prevent Couture's mount.
Toney's crappy performance and obvious lack of MMA training was so ugly and such a scam on the fans that we need some beauty to make the sport not so ugly. UFC Ring Girls Arianny Celeste & Chandella Powell.
James Toney was completely ill prepared to deal with Couture's superior MMA; Toney you should have trained harder in MMA instead of talking so much crap.

Toney taps due to an effective choke at UFC 118!  It was like watching an ass get choked by an anaconda.  The power of the anaconda should never be under estimated.

People discuss how Toney's inflated salary was worth it because he attracted boxing fans.  We thought this was a contest of merit in fighting not a sales position. Did Zuffa ever consider if people are merely watching to see Toney then they will be fickle fans when the sports is inherently interesting to real fans.

MMA Maxim is selling top-of-line fitness equipment used by the pro-fighters at Blackhouse, George St. Pierre, Mark Munoz and many others. The ANACONDA increases up to 150 lbs of resistance as you work harder and is an amazing workout.

Chuck Liddell's UFC contract is not being renewed but freak shows like James Toney were signed to attract boxing fans.  MMA is inherently interesting so there is no need to pander to WWE and boxing fans.

Frankie Edgar calls himself the Rodney Dangerfield of MAMA because he "gets no respect" for his win against Penn during this last fight for the title.
Edgar will finally get more respect with his second win over Penn.
